Terms and Conditions of Use

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use BookHive. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

2. User Accounts

You may browse the Site without an account. However, to post content or receive payments, you must create an account and comply with our verification process.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and are liable for all activity under your account.

3. Content and Copyright

YOU RETAIN FULL OWNERSHIP AND COPYRIGHT of any stories or content you post to BookHive. WE DO NOT CLAIM ANY OWNERSHIP OVER YOUR WORK.

By posting on BookHive, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, revocable, and worldwide license to display your content SOLELY on the BookHive Site for as long as it remains published. This license does NOT include the right to:

• Reproduce your work outside of the BookHive website;
• Distribute, sell, or sublicense your content;
• Use your content in ads, marketing campaigns, third-party services, or any off-site use without your explicit, written permission.

If you delete your content, BookHive will promptly remove it from all public-facing parts of the Site and will no longer display or use it in any way.

YOU MAINTAIN ALL RIGHTS. WE DO NOT HAVE AND WILL NEVER CLAIM COMMERCIAL RIGHTS TO YOUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY.

4. Monetization and Payments

Creators may earn revenue from ads displayed between chapters via Stripe Connect. BookHive does not collect or store sensitive financial information; all such data is handled by Stripe in accordance with their terms and privacy policies.

To receive payments, creators must provide Stripe with necessary information (e.g., the last 4 digits of their SSN). Payouts are subject to Stripe's approval and processing times.

In addition to Stripe, manual payouts via PayPal may be offered temporarily. These payouts:

• Are processed manually by the BookHive team;
• Must be explicitly requested by the user;
• Require sufficient account verification;
• Are subject to delay, denial, or cancellation if abuse, fraud, or Terms violations are suspected.

BookHive reserves the right to withhold or deny payment in cases of fraud, abuse, or violations of these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

Users agree not to:

• Post hate speech, harassment, or explicit sexual content (including erotica);
• Infringe on any copyright or intellectual property rights;
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform or other users;
• Attempt to bypass payment systems or fraudulently monetize content.

6. Moderation and Removal

BookHive reserves the right to:

• Remove any content that violates these Terms or our community standards;
• Suspend or permanently ban any user at our sole discretion, with or without notice;
• Enforce content standards consistently but retain editorial judgment.

7. Termination

You may close your account at any time. BookHive may terminate or restrict access at our discretion for violations of these Terms or any other reason.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BookHive is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Site. All services are provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
